🗳️ Runoff reminder + help us report missing stop signs

Happy Saturday, neighbors! I’m writing this (belated) roundup as I sit on my porch, enjoying the sounds of chirping birds, buzzing bugs, and squirrels recklessly skittering around the pecan overhead. Here are a couple quick updates before our next neighborhood meeting on Monday…

Time for another runoff election 🗳️

In case you missed it, there’s a runoff election to decide some of the races from the May 21 election. DeKalb County CEO is one of the main offices, so be sure to make your vote count!

Early voting runs from June 10-14 (this coming week), and you can swing by our usual polling place (Greater Piney Grove Church) between 7am and 7pm to cast your ballot. Or vote on Election Day, June 18th, same place, same hours.

Help us out: report missing stop signs 🛑

We’ve been hearing stories (and the telltale honking) of missing stop signs around the neighborhood. We need help to report these to the county – the more reports they get, the more likely they are to fix them. Head over to this page and file a report for each of the following:

Missing Stop Sign Locations:

  • Warren St SE & Liberty Ave SE

  • S Howard St SE & Memorial Dr SE

So long, Mr. James

Thanks to a tipoff from neighbor Brad on Howard St, we heard that longtime resident Mr. James (also Howard St) will be moving out of Parkview. Even if you don’t know him yourself, you can appreciate the nearly 60 years he’s been a part of the neighborhood. We’re working on commemorating this achievement, so be sure to come to Monday’s meeting if you want to contribute!

June Meeting

The Parkview Civic Club meets every second Monday of the month and everyone is welcome (even if you’re not a member)! The next PCC meeting will take place Monday, June 10th at 7pm at The Clubhouse, 353 Wilkinson Dr SE Atlanta GA 30317.
